Asalamu 'Alaykuum,

This is my latest poem, I composed it today. It is once again a free verse poem so please enjoy and comment!

"The Raindrop"
By MuslimBrother92

A raindrop begins to fall from a cloud,
It passes through the wind at an astonishing speed.
The wind blows it off course as it hits its fellow raindrops,
Until it meets its fate; on a tree leaf it rests.

Slowly it slithers down the middle of the leaf,
Then it meets the edge and gently it drops.
The soil below consumes this drop,
To sustain its life, to sustain its growth.

The soil, rich and moist, nurtures the seeds within it,
Allowing them to grow into beautiful flora.
They then drop their siblings onto the forest floor,
Sitting their dormant, until it is consumed by the rich, healthy soil.

The cycle continues as many drops fall,
Repeating the pattern the first drop made.
Whoever knew that so much can come from a drop?
As it changes the environment for the better not worse.

A person of knowledge is seen as this drop,
As soon as they are born their journey begins.
Having the gift of cherishing time,
They strive and yearn to gain this knowledge.

But what knowledge is it that will lead one to grow?
It is the knowledge of truth, the knowledge of Islam.
As the person of knowledge goes through the hardships of life,
They continue to strive until they meet their end.

What they learnt remains with their students,
Seeping into their minds like the Earth’s rich soil.
They then teach the truth to their fellow people,
To make them grow and to make them prosper.

The people begin to teach their young,
Leaving with them what the first person taught.
Slowly it spreads throughout the entire community,
Eventually spreading throughout the entire world.

One raindrop turns to many in an instant,
Having within them the sustenance of life.
All hitting the soil simultaneously,
Allowing the dormant seeds to grow and grow.

One person of knowledge turns to many over years,
Having with them the knowledge of truth.
Spreading across the lands and teaching their people,
Allowing for their ignorance to turn into understanding.

Like a raindrop they are, they hold a key,
The key they hold is the ability of change.
To change the way people understand their beliefs,
To make them of those who are successful in the end.

The sacrifice of effort and especially time,
Is rewarded with Paradise a place of infinity.
The legacy they leave inspires generations,
To strive and yearn for the Sake of Allah.

One would be a fool to not know the importance,
The importance of a person who has the knowledge.
Without them is ignorance throughout our lands,
And ultimately corruption which will lead to Hell.

So when you see a raindrop fall,
Remember the people who contain the truth.
Look at the raindrop sparkle lightly,
Let your mind consume what the truth has taught you.

Jazakallah Khair. This is beautiful! I specially like the part where the knowledge grows to become a better community. It reminds of the Islam's past glory.
