Muhammad Ad-Dari related the following: ''Among us there was a rather slow and heedless man. He left the city of Dar, taking with him ten donkeys. He mounted one of them and then counted 9 donkeys in his flock; he descended and then counted 10. He did this a number of times and then said, 'For me to walk and gain a profit of one donkey is better than for me to ride and lose one donkey.' He continued to walk, and almost died from weakness, until finally, he reached his village.''
