Travelling towards my grave.
assalam 'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
1) In the time of Abbasid Khaliphs, Muslims were powerful. World was in peace. Mothers were free to raise their children on the solid foundation of Ash'had Anlaa Ilaaha Illallah, Wa Ash-had Anna Muhammadhan Rasoolullah. Governments were running according to the Islamic Sharee'ah.
It lasted until the last Khaleefah gave access to Kuffar, in to the Khaleefah's territory. He neglected the people of the Ummah, and those people he gave permission was the key of Kuffar to attack the Islamic Khilaafah while it was "sleeping". This became the end of Abbasid Khilaafah.
2) Ottoman Empire was powerful with the mercy of Allah, and His blessings. People were living in peace and prosperity. This lasted until the Empire made a wrong decision, against the book of Allah. He borrowed an Interest Based Loan, for the expenditure of Muslim Troops, while preparing for the last war it had. Riba is clearly prohibited in Allah's book and His messenger's words. Surah al-Baqarah, Verse Number 275, Allah says, "........Allah hath permitted trade and forbidden usury....."
And as a warning to those who do not listen, He says in Verse Number 279 of the same Surah, "If ye do it not, Take notice of war from God and His Apostle......."
The above mentioned war became the end of Ottoman Empire, forever. Why? Because of trowing away one warning of Allah (subuhaanahu wata'aala), thinking about this world.
My brothers and sisters. Allah is the same then and now, and so is His power and mercy. If we seek peace from the bottoms of our hearts and try our best for it, He will give it to us inshaAllah. But under one condition. We MUST be obeying to the commandments of Allah (subuhaanahu wata'aala) and His messenger. Otherwise we will fail for sure.
Now think about ourselves. How many commandments of Allah and His messenger (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam) do we throw away each day? How much do we care to keep away from what is prohibited for us? How much do we care about our earnings whether they are Halal or Haram?
These are some few questions that we need to ask for ourselves. Its up to us to prepare, before Allah (subuhaanahu wata'aala) give a lesson to the people who will come after us, like what He gave us, through the Ummahs before us.
Allahumma Salli 'Ala Muhammad, Wa 'Ala Aalihee Wa As-haabihee Ajma'een. Wa Man Tabi'ahum Bi Ihsaanin Ilaa Yaumiddeen.
Allahummansuru Ikhwaaninaa Fee Filasteen. Wal 'Iraq, Wa Afghanistan. Wash-Sheeshani Wal Kashmeer. Allahumma Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyoom.
