things that have been bothering me

for those that do not know, i have been born and raised in the u.s. i think america is a great country but, i'm really upset over the direction that the country has turned to. truthfully, if i didn't have responsibilites here, i would have left the country some time ago.

it's amazing that you can't even turn on the tv in front of your own parents because the stuff is so bad. you flip through channels and have to cover the eyes and ears of your children. we are constantly bombarded with haram images. the good has become bad and the bad has become good. we aren't even safe when we watch the news anymore. there are haram things going on there too. another problem that i have with the news is their islambashing. how often do they portay muslims in a positive light?

the value of human life has been tossed by the wayside, with the legalization of abortion. a practice that would be unnecessary had people been responsible. the homosexual community scoffs at Allah swt creation by that dangerous practice, a practice that we are no longer told to tolerate, but to accept. we face repercussions for questioning or being at odds with this ungodly practice. we are called intolerant or bigots.

many women no longer have self respect. dressing in next to nothing. leading brothers into temptation, causing them to sin, destroying, marriages, homes, and bloodlines. feminists movements have thrown out the necessary training for young women, the things that helped them become good wives and mothers. these feminist movements are really angry at Allah swt because they weren't born as men. so they try to cmopete with us by taking women out of the home and making a nanny do all of the work at home. it always amazed me that most of the strongest supporter of the fem movement are women that are attracted to women and aren't able to have kids because of the choice of their lifestyle. am i saying a woman shouldn't go out to work? no, what i'm saying is that they shouldn't call a muslim woman or any woman for that matter oppressed if they choose to remain home and rear their children.

it seems that justice in the land has gone down the drain. the criminal has become the victim and the vitim has become the criminal. if you're rich you can buy your freedom. if you're poor, kiss your family goodbye. right now, there are hundreds of innocent muslim brothers being detained at gitmo, without having ever been charged. shouldn't they after 6 years, know what they are being charged with? of course they should! but our justice department doesn't think so. i'm not saying that all of the prisoners are innocent, but they at least deserve a trial.

everyday i see poverty, people literally eating garbage, yes here in america! so many people outside of america would be shocked to see the high level of poverty here. american idol recently gathered 30 million usd to feed the hungry in africa; that's fine, but what about our hungry here in america? our hungry comes first. it would be wrong for a father to feed someone else's kid before his own. we're spending billions of usd fighting a war that everyone knows that we've lost, yet we don't have money to fight poverty or provide healthcare to millions living without it. in america there are people that need medical attention badly, but are afraid to go because they know that one visit could put them 20000 usd= 35000 british pounds in debt.

we've fallen behind in education too. our kids can tell you who was voted off american idol last night, but they can't tell you who the first president was. they can't remember a single paragraph of shakespeare but can remember word for word 50 cents newest cd.

is america bad? no, america is only as good as the people inside of it. why have all of these thing happened? godlessness. the people have gone contrary to the will of Allah swt. we as a nation just need to repent to He that is Most forgiving, most merciful.

Jazakallahu khair brother. There is alot of good points you made and we need to reflect on it.

I agree, it is kind of sad to find poverty and poor people in America. Without regards to politics, there are some positive aspects that we can state about America. America is filled with great education, opportunities and the freedom to choose your religion, yet many don't realize this because they have never seen what it is like in other countries, so they don't appreciate and strive to make their lives better. I can understand why there is poverty in for example war torn countries, but when you are in America that is the least you would expect. There was a study done I think 2 years ago by a Muslim organization that showed the comparison of of Muslim household income vs. the national average income in the US, and believe it or not Muslims were above the national average.

Society here falls for the deceptions and the material world. The look for celebrities and stars who have "made it" as their roles models. Why? I believe the root cause is because of their religion. Islam stresses over and over about the unimportance of this life vs. the next life. When your mentality is "today is the only day to live" you accomplish so much your day and see life so much differently. Even the importance of education is stressed in Islam.
