To Muslim Youth

Asalamualikum,

This post is to all of my Muslim brothers and sisters, specifically the youth, who live in the USA or a similar western country. Do not despair. I speak from your shoes, I am where you are now and I know how hard it is to keep your iman and deen with so much temptation and sin surrounding you. Keep your head held high and avoid these temptations. Seek out fellow Muslims, who hold the same convictions as you, and befriend them when you can. Some of us, including myself, live in an area with no fellow Muslim youth to befriend. This makes things even harder, trying to find your place in a community with no one like you and where you are different. But do not despair, you might feel lonely and feel like you are drowning in loneliness but realize that you are never alone. Allah is always with you in your heart. In my 10+ years living in this non-Muslim country I have gone through, and still go through, many of these challenges daily. You are not alone, there are many Muslims like you who are going through these tests placed on us by Allah. Do not be one of those who falls, stay strong and always keep Allah and your deen in your hearts and minds.

If possible, let’s use this thread to discuss our fears, hardships, and thoughts.

May Allah bless us and make things easier for us.
اللهُمَّ لا سَهْلَ إلا مَا جَعَلتَهُ سَهْلا وَ أنتَ تَجْعَلُ الحزْنَ إذا شِئْتَ سَهْلا

I'm not what you believe
salam 'alikum,I don't live in Usa and I don't know the hardships of that side of te world.I live in Italy, what I have to say is that there is maybe more Fitnah here than outside.I'm too far from the mosque of Milan, but it happens that I see some "muslim" female fellows and I really feel ashamed to be here.they are above all maroccan and I see that while the mothers wear hijab, their daughters smoke cigarette and use artificial peintures for their hair...there is not much to be happy and stay firm.we need to live in a place called "muslimlandia" ;)

Wa alaikum asalam. Italy and Europe are much like the USA. Yes I see that here too, Muslims who stray from their religion. It can be hard at times but this is a test from Allah, so we must stick through it and face the hardship with pride. Mashallah you are doing great to resist these temptations, please continue to do so.

There is much to be happy about, Allah has chosen you for Islam and is keeping you on the right path, that's the happiest thing. I would love to live in muslimlandia! :)

brother,if someone wants to fall into temptation,he doesn't need to live in a non muslim country.Maybe Allah has chosen me(I believe in predestination and I like to think that He gave me the chance to follow the right path),but there are many ones who have chosen another way to spend their life. What I can say is that I don't need to stay among the ones who don't deserve my attention.if you mean that there are no sisters in Islam in my town, you're right,it's hard to be alone all day long, but it's better to stay at home:Allah can see me here too.
