Intolerance is on the increase in the world today, causing death, genocide, violence, religious persecution as well as confrontations on different levels. Some times it is racial and ethnic, some times it is religious and ideological, other times it is political and social. In every situation it is evil and painful. But the question is How can we solve the problem of intolerance? How can we assert our own beliefs and positions without being intolerant to others? How can we bring tolerance into the world today?…… As a Muslim I can shed some light on the spirit of Tolerance showed by Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Introduction of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) in the Qur’an:

A MERCY TO MANKIND (Al-Anbiyaa’: 107)

Prophet’s heart was filled with intense love for all human kind irrespective of
caste, creed, or color. His opponents continued to treat him and his Companions unjustly and cruelly, but he always prayed for them. It was the character of Muhammad (pbuh) to meet the persecution and torture of his enemies with pardon and tolerance. He was the most merciful and forgiving person. He was merciful to his family, followers, friends, even enemies. He was merciful to young and old, to humans and to animals. The Prophet made supplications for his people on regular basis: "O Allah! Guide my people, for they know not," According to a hadith, the Prophet once said: “A true believer is one with whom others feel secure. One who returns love for hatred.” On one occasion, some Companions came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! The tribe of Daws have committed disbelief and disobeyed (your commands). Supplicate Allah against them!" Contrary to the people’s expectations, the Prophet said: "O Allah! Guide Daws and let them come to us." (Reported by Al-Bukhari). Once he was so badly stoned by his enemies that the blood began to spurt from all over his body. This happened when he went to Ta’if, where the Hijaz aristocracy used to while away their summer days. When he attempted to call them to Islam, instead of listening to his words of wisdom, they set the street urchins upon him, who kept chasing him till nightfall. Even at that point, when he was utterly exhausted and bleeding from head to foot, all he said was, “O my Lord, guide my people along the true path, as they are ignorant of the truth.” As his follower I would like to request my Muslim fellows must live and spread the noble message of Islam at a time when hatefulness and ugliness towards each other has become the norm. We do not know the aims of individuals. We do not even know ourselves. So let's keep making Du`a’ that we stay on the right path and that Allah will guide others to it as well.

IF OUR BELOVED PROPHET(PBUH) CAN SHOW MUCH MERCY TO MANKIND THAN WHY CAN'T WE ????

Jazakum Allah Khair

Rasoolallah :saw: was the best of men. He should be emulated. But don't beat yourself over the head when you cannot match his ideals. We need to clean up dar es islam before we can reach out to others. Think of the genocide in Darfur, going on right now, where one group of muslims are wiping out another group of muslims for ethnic differences. Think of the fighting in Gaza, between muslims. Think of the violence in Iraq. Even the most fervent of my brothers and sisters here have to admit that many of the deaths of muslims are brought about through the deeds of other muslims.

We must clean our own house before we can tell our neighbor to mow his lawn. Yaa Allah, give us a caliph to unite us and end this infighting.
