Touch the wood !

whenever i see something i like i say mashAllah but at the same time i touch the wood but i was wondering if this is right or haram i really wanna know as i do it always .

Asalamo Aleikum sister,

Touch wood is a myth from old ages. people used to believe by touching wood they call the wood spirits and Gods for good luck, help or protection. So it is HARAM to do that as we only believe in one God and only seek help from Him.

May Allah always shows you the righteous path and give you strength to follow it.
