Tower of Babel

Assalaamu alaikum

Here is some information concerning the Tower of Babel story. It is from Wikpedia so please be aware may not be 100% accurate. Basically though the Tower is mentioned in the Bible - Genesis - and has similarities in the Qur'an.

About 2/3rds way down it mentions Qur'an

This is very interesting. I remember one day going to a Bible study with a freind and they were talking about this. I found it really hard to grasp but that explained it. They said the Qur'an doesn't mention it but Al-Tabari does, but they don't say what sources Al-Tabari himself used to compile his story. How would Al-Tabari know the story of it isn't in the Qur'an?
