True to convert fom non-muslim to Muslim.

Assalam-O-Alaikum,

My Brother-In-Law is in love with a non-Muslim girl.

She is ready to get married to him and her parents also don't have any issues.

The girl is ready to be converted to Muslim.

Please let me how we go about this.

Further, we are in India. So is it mandatory to make an Affidavit?

If yes, is there a specific format for the Affidavit?

If she is converting just for sake of making marriage valid then I think you better ask a shiekh about this.

#2 if she is Hindu its not allowed because they are not people of the book.

Instead of worring about the format of affadavit, you need to be concerned about her conversion to Islam. If she is a Hindu and just doing the conversion on paper and do not actually believe in Islam and that Allah is the ONE and ONLY God and Mohammad is His messanger, then she will still be a Hindu after the marriage. And a Muslim man can only marry a Muslim women or a women from people of the book i.e. Jew or Christian.

As far as affadavit is concerned when you go to the court the people in the court know the official and legal wordings, try to find a Muslim guy who has done it before.

But again, instead of worring about the format of affadavit, you need to be concerned about her conversion to Islam, if it is genuine or not. You are doing it for Allah - right? He knows what is in people's heart ... so he will not look at the affadavit on the Day of Judgment.
