:salam2:
i have always heard the saying of " if you aren't part of the solution, then you are part of the problem. " i always hated that saying when it was directed towards me, but deep down inside i knew that those people were right. that's why i have decided that i should call FOX NEWS and voice my concern of their negative portrayals of islam and muslims, insha'Allah.
for too long, i have voiced my opinions or complaints to the wrong people and have remained silent before the people that should be hearing my complaints and are able to do something about it. for this reason, i ask all of you here at TTI to make du'a for me, that i may be successful in voicing my opinion to the news giant, insha'ALLAH.
i'm not asking Fox to never comment on islam, but rather i am asking them to be fair in their reporting of us and to place credible islamic scholars on their programs to refute any negative claims against islam. they have been putting non-muslim collegiate " experts " to explain issues such as jihad and polygamy in islam. this is extremely harmful because islam is a way of life and can really only be understood and explained by people living the islamic life. as a muslim who was not born into a muslim family, i can tell you all that i know about christianity. but i am the exception. most muslims have been muslims all of their lives. therefore, a muslim can never be an expert on christianity, because it isn't his way of life.
on almost every occasion Fox News, their reporters and pundits have made terrible comments or assumptions about islam and muslims; without having anybody, especially muslims to respond. to do such a thing in journalism is very irresponsible and dangerous.
so again, i ask that you make du'a for me, to help properly convey my message to them.
