these muslims who beleive in durgah/mazaars/shrines etc are Bareilly muslims- unfortunately, they know very little about islam and fill the void with superstitious beliefs and place lots of importance in visiting these shrines etc
some poor people even prostrate before the graves of whichever pious person is buried in it.
the persons buried there are really pious saints of the past but somehow, instead of following the examples of these friends of Allah ta'ala, these people almost worship these graves.
you can be sure that these pious people never instructed them to do all these haraam & bid'ah actions esp. in their names.
you will find them not particular about salaah but consider visiting these shrines to be an act of great thawaab.

Sorry to disagree with what was said. He is consistent! He sees niqaab being inconsistent with French culture but consistent with Indian culture. Having his wife wear a hijaab is a sign of respect for his hosts. In his mind, French women wearing a niqaab is disrespectful of their French hosts.

In that latter point, he is mistaken. French Muslim women who wear the niqaab do not do so out of disrespect for France and its culture, but out of respect for God. That is the part that is missing from the debate. France is a secular country, but it is also a multi-ethnic country whose constitution guarantees freedom of religion. Banning the niqaab on people who believe it is an integral part of their religion, is therefore a violation of their constitutional right of free practice of religion.

IMHO, this matter may be settled in court by the EC, because this is also a violation of the EU constitution.

Akhi, I admire your observation and good point there. But if you remember when he visited Saudi Arabia he could have that same respect for the Saudi culture. Unfortunately he landed up with a unmarried woman which offended them and they were not also informed.
