i rarely watch television anymore, pretty much because i usually get sickened by the programs that are on. of course no one forces me to watch any program, so i have the choice to watch or not to watch; usually i choose not to watch. but today i saw an interesting show on television. it reminded me of the harm caused by the sin of zinaa.
on this show, the MAURY POVICH SHOW to be exact, had several women on that didn’t know the paternity of their children. some of the women have been on the show nearly 20 times in order to find out who in fact fathered their children. each time they appeared on the show, it was proven that none of the numerous men were the father of any of these children. the women are usually saying that they’re 100% sure that a particular man is the father. they’re sleeping around around with all of these men and have the audacity to be upset when these men deny the children. many of the men call the women all sorts of foul names etc. the show becomes a shouting match and really becomes a show less about the baby in question, but more about who’s right, mom or dad?
all this yelling and crying is going on, marriages and families broken, and i can’t help but to say that none of this would’ve happened had they not committed zinaa. the married woman cheating on the husband. the married man cheating on his wife. the brother-in law sleeping with his brother’s wife etc. islam, through the quran and sunnah warns us of these things. it’s amazing how so many people deny or ignore this.
it’s sad because the woman is getting embarrassed, not including her family. the men are getting embarrassed and most importantly it’s embarrassing that the baby doesn’t even know who their father is. all of these reasons including the risk of disease are why zinaa is so shameful and a thing that not only muslims, but all humanity should avoid.
