I have an issue in my mind. Is the name Aziz acceptable? Now first let me start there is a clear difference in Arabic between Aziz and Al-Aziz. In arabic Aziz means dear where Al-Aziz swt means The Mighty, The Strong, The Defeater.
I have had rare occasions where muslims refused to accept this name to a person. I have not had a sheik or Imam caution me of this name. I had a lot of interaction with many Imams.
What I am asking is there any reference, hikm, or fatwa on using this name? I tried to search QA but my problem is reading the Arabic, I am very slow. I need an answer to those who object or an answer to not use the name.
