Assalamu Alaykum,

As most of us know Quran Corpus Website has verse by verse grammar explained, however it is brief and root has not been given right under word of the verse. Verbs have not been given fully conjugated in a table and because of this learning is still difficult for a beginner.Further more, Quran word is not supported with picture for concrete words (such as picture of house for word 'bayt'). This pictorial dictionary approach can inspire kids to learn Quran words as well and help adult learner retain word in mind more easily. Real life usage for Quran words must be provided as we find in most English Dictionary. This helps a learner how word operates in real life and one can also make Quran word as a part of his everyday life in different context. This is how Quranic Arabic can be active in our everyday life as well.

iarabic dot tv is wonderful website which has one sample video at lesson 8.1

However, one has to make more video or motivate that site owner to make entire Quran video this way verse by verse.

Also there is need that someone or more of us take up a challenge and make Quranic Dictionary Software with following features.

[1] Root based Search
[2] Frequency based Search
[3] Parts of Speech based Search
[4] Verse by Verse and Word by Word audio playing option and export as mp3 option to make user's own collections
[5] Root given near each Quran word
[6] Frequency of word given near each word
[7] Parts of Speech given near each word
[8] Meaning of Word in Basic Arabic (3000 Defining Words in Arabic). English-English Dictionary uses Basic Vocabulary or Defining Vocabulary to define all words in English this way.
[9] Picture (without eyes or non-living objects) for all visible words (technically knows as concrete words)
[10] Real Life Example Usage - to show a learner how Quran words are used in arab world even for day to day situations. This would help to retain meaning and motivate the learner to use Quran words in day to day life situation as well.
[11] Fully conjugated table generation for each noun and verbs and mp3
[12] Print out of used selected data wordlist, etc and mp3 of quran words and conjugated table download option as per user selection to play and practice listening drill

Please work on features and insha allah, Allah will inspire us to make first ever Quran Teaching software that helps all from kid to adult learner..

Ma as salama

Jazakallah for the link

There is one more web regarding Quran Grammar I found
qurandev (dot) github (dot) c o m (slash) quran

Non-Arab muslims are not using Arabic words in their day to day life and therefore an interesting fact is that very few muslims would know that Apple in Arabic is called as Tuffah. But all do know English word Apple as if it is word from their mother tongue. This shows how much injustice has been done to Arabic Language by majority of non-arab muslims by not learning Arabic compared to English and same way not many Arab Muslims travel to non-arabic countries with an intention to teach and spread knowledge of Arabic and Quran to Muslims. However, English people traveled to all parts of the world with an intention to spread English and Christianity. And proof is that if you trace who taught Apple to your grandfather or their grandfather, certainly you would reach to one of the missionary school's presence in your country which spread the language and words. However, British Council is very much active in any country in the world and same way is media in English but you would hardly find anyone today coming from Arab world to non-arab muslims to tell that its Tuffah originally to which you call Apple in English. Allah taught Adam (alayhis salam) names of all things (in Arabic) and Tuffah was certainly not named as Apple but would have beed called as Tuffah by Allah and therefore its must for Muslim Ummah to come back to original words and language which Allah prefers in communication with Angels, Prophets, and made it even language of Quran and Jannah. Why do we all not learn Language of Allah and Prophet as first language and giving priority to our mother tongue as well as English? How many Arabic Medium School do we have in non-arab muslim country? How many Arabic newspapers do we have in Arabic? But in case of English, we are still being slave to that language as no two muslims from two different corner of the world can communicate with each other as Arabic is not a universal language or link language for Muslims and we have made English as a link language among muslims from different parts of the world as well. Shame on us that we have not made as our link language or universal language even after 1400 years...

Reason was propaganda that Arabic is too difficult a language. People have been saying not to come near Qur'aan before you know 16 branches of knowledge etc. The purpose has all along been to keep majority away from Qur'aan.

Qur'aan is the only Book the grammar and vocabulary of which can be learnt by the aged people exactly in the manner a child learns his first language by listening and watching.

Except Arabs, rest 10 percent people do not understand the meanings of Qur'aan while listening, indluding scholars in various fields.

some burning questions

Salam,

I read an instuction for foreign students on darul ulum website as follows.
For Foreign Students:

"Since the medium of instruction is Urdu therefore if the foreign students learn a little bit Urdu that would be better for them."

I understand their logic behind this but still this also raise some questions.

[1] Percentage of resources, time, and energy Urdu & Farsi consume compared to Arabic in general and in islamic madarssa in non-Arabic countries.
[2] Ignoring Successful examples where English is taught using Direct Method in any English Medium School and yet Arabic is not taught using Direct Method and teachers and students have to depend on Grammar Translation Method (using Urdu) both in terms of classroom instruction as well as two language grammar books and dictionaries. Thus, Non-Arabic Languages being not just medium of instruction but also not allowing Arabic to become a thinking or daily life spoken language even for advanced Madrassa student.
[4] Number of students who pass out not trained enough to teach Arabic to any foreign language speaker where they can use Arabic as only medium of instruction for teaching Arabic or publishing anything in Arabic online or offline.
[5] Foreign Students taking admission in India-Pakistani Madarssa are expected and appreciated if they learn little bit of Urdu assuming it would ease their education since the language of medium is Urdu. Same way, knowledge of English is necessary if one is studying in UK/South Africa Madarssa where English is also used as language of instruction. Does this indirectly show that foreign students is expected to learn little bit of Urdu/English prior to admission and indirectly signifying that it is easier for students/teachers to adapt to Urdu/English than making Arabic as language of instruction or teaching Basic Arabic so that students can adapt to Arabic as medium of instruction.
[6] Question is why two more languages (Farsi and English) are introduced to madrassa students in India / Pakistan as both resources and efforts should better be spent on reviving Arabic in students as link language or in society where their primary need is to understand Quran in Arabic and not Farsi, English or Urdu.Same way, I guess that even though Arabic is as core of Islam and yet for years we have been being dependent to local languages worldwide and not pulling Arabic to the core of the society and making society accept it as link language, universal language and language of thoughts and emotions by first making it as only language of instruction and Islamic media or newspaper.
[7] There are Urdu newspapers and countless Islamic books and magazines and social media in India / Pakistan which reflect education in that language and therefore can we accept that we have not been successful to initiate any Arabic newspaper and magazine so far in India/Pakistan and does it hint that we have not trained enough of workforce who can train and produced Arabic speaking or Arabic acquainted masses compared to Urdu.Similarly, a lot of languages operates among Muslims as we would find world libraries with books on Islam in various language and yet not making just one book 'Quran' globally understood in Arabic only.

non-arab muslims are more in numbers than arab muslims.

Salam,

I do not agree that only 10% (non-arab muslims) do not understand as there are more non-arab muslims than arab muslims. Do some stats and you would reach number of people who are not able to understand Quran in Arabic. And number is really alarming..
