While I won't speak about the authenticity of the Bible itself, the history of Christianity in relation to Arius is interesting.

Arius, who is spoken of in the article, and was present at the Council of Nicea in 325, argued there was a time when God was and the Son [Jesus] was not, meaning he was not eternal and by definition if God is his father, then Jesus must have at some point not been equal to the Father.

Some Christians argue Arius did say, the Son was present at the time of the creation of the world or the universe and helped God in the Creation, but the difference lies in at some point before that when the Son did not exist and the Father did, proving that some superiority of the Father to the Son must be acknowledged.

Today and since then, Arius, who was an African priest of one of the four most influential Churches in the world at the time, is seen as a heretic and regarded as being in Hell for his beliefs. He was later poisoned in 336.
