Yes, in the Hadits, the word used there have 3 meanings, if I'm not mistaken was "ihsha' " means to memorise, understand and apply.

And Al Basith is one of Asma'ul Husna, it means "the One who lower prices"

99 Names of Allah.

THe Hadith relating to the 99 names of Allah is in Sahih Bukhari 3:894, Narrated Abu Huraira

Allah's Apostle said, "Allah has ninety-nine names, i.e. one-hundred minus one, and whoever knows them will go to Paradise."

And another version it state that in ....

Hadith - Sahih Bukhari 8:419, Narrated Abu Huraira

Allah has ninety-nine Names, i.e., one hundred minus one, and whoever believes in their meanings and acts accordingly, will enter Paradise; and Allah is Witr (one) and loves 'the Witr' (i.e., odd numbers).

168 Names Of Allah (Asma'ul Husna)

Asma’ul husna

Islam said that we should make Du'a using Asma'ul Husnaa, for example: Yaa Razzaq, give me food for this day.
Yaa Hayiyyu Sittiir please cover my sins and bad characters.
Yaa Hayiyyu Kariim please regain my honour in Islam etc.

Rasulullah said that whoever memorise (ahsahaa) 99 of these will enter Jannah.
And when going to do Du'a, call Allah with these names.

The hadeeth is sahih like many already mentioned...

brother Ishaq Suhayib...mentioned a very very very important point..pay attention to it

as *ishsa'a*..does mean *understanding* (the meanings)...memorizing...reciting..believing (in them)..and acting (according to the meanings of them)

So you can't just simply "memorize" and sit on your couch and think...*alhamduliallah, I am going to al-jannah*...

NO..you are entailed to do 4 other things as well..so bear them in mind

and baraka allaho feek :)

And when going to do Du'a, call Allah with these names.

yes, i have heard and read this before. it is sound.

but i do remember once hearing from Shaykh Ibrahim Dremali, that the memorization alone just doesn't help the person enter jannah. but it's about pondering on the meanings, i mean really pondering on the meanings, being grateful and being obedient to ALLAH SWT.
