Here is a very good article I think you will really enjoy, especially new converts:

What are the proofs of God’s existence?

Proving something’s existence is lot easier than proving the non-existence of something. We can prove an apple breed’s existence with a simple demonstration just by showing its location on earth. However, someone who claims non-existence of something can only prove it by looking everywhere on earth and in the universe. And this is impossible. So we can say, non-existence cannot be proved.

No one can claim that it is impossible to enter a palace, which has 999 open doors and 1 close. A denier constantly considers that one closed door. In fact, even that door is closed only for his /her spiritual world, which was once closed… there is no closed door for the believer. He/she would better not close his/her eyes just so. Actually, 999 doors are open or even wide open for everyone. Let us present the door and several proofs.

Possibility Proof: Possibility has equal relation with existence and non-existence. Something may exist; it may not exist. In our daily conversations, we use that word for which something can or cannot happen. All of the created bears this reality, “My existence and non-existence were equal (before I was created). If I do exist, it is because of the One who chooses my existence to my non-existence. And that can be only God.”

‘Hudus’ (Created Later) Proof: ‘Hudus’ means created later. The biggest proof of Hudus is change. If there is change in creation, there should be an initial point (cause) of this motion. Before that initial point (cause), the creation was not in the field of existence. If you are still in non-existence, you are incapable of being or not being, “Later” existence should be God’s creation. According to thermodynamics law, incidents such as matter’s constantly drifting towards non-existence, cosmos’ (its magnetic field) constantly getting larger, sun’s wearing out its energy demonstrate that the realm of existence has a beginning.

Art Proof: From an atom to a human, from a cell to galaxies, there is a vertiginous art that parades in the Universe. Every creation in the Universe have the below listed qualities.

- It has a value of the great work of arts
- It is very precious
- It is done easily in a short time
- It could be in great numbers
- It is convolute and has varieties
- It is constant,

whereas things, which are done easily in a short time and which are convoluted and many should not be considered as work of art or cannot be precious. However, if the maker is God things change and complete opposites can come together.

Impossibility of ‘circular motion’ and ‘Teselsul’ (Chain Events) it is impossible without the existence of “first cause”: Impossibility of ‘Circular motion’ is defined with the example; you ask a question to a man who claims that the maker of an egg is a chicken as, “Who did make the chicken?” The answer is, “Egg.” According to this claim, we should eliminate the chicken in this process. Therefore, the maker of an egg is another egg, which is impossible. ‘Teselsul’ (Chain events) on the other hand is a method of proving the existence of God by tracing a thing back to its first cause of (creation). That is to say, ‘this’ fruit was bared by ‘that’ tree, that tree was grown from a prior seed of a fruit, and that was bared by a prior tree… Thereby, we ask to the first tree or to the first fruit,”Who did create this?” as of our right!

The way of Qur’an is far different from “Circular motion’, and “Teselsul’ (chaining events). For the questions such as, “Who did the egg?” or “Who did the fruit?” the answer is directly “God created.” It is proven that the causes (chicken, tree) that have no share in science, will, compassion, and mercy; and also that have no possibility to understand what human, wisdom and art are, would have no impact for the creation of the consequences. Thereby, ‘Circular motion’ and ‘Teselsul’ (Chaining events) proofs are not needed.

Wisdom and Purpose Proof: There is a proper purpose and usefulness in every creation. It is not observed any purposelessness, meaninglessness or anything, which is considered waste. However, neither in the realm of matter nor in the world of plants and animals and nor objects and incidents have the conscious to follow this chain of purposes. If that is so, the only reasonable way is to adhere the conscious functioning of the Universe, wisdom and purposes to God.

Solidarity Proof: From ‘rain’ is to gallop to the rescue of earth, from ‘sun’ is to come to the help of eyes; to the ‘air’ is to clean the blood, this universe is with full of solidarity. None of these that are helping each other is aware of their existence. Therefore, causes cannot be the maker of these incidents.

Cleanliness Proof: Cleanliness and purity in the Universe as an independent proof tells us about God who is also called as Al-Quddus (The Holy, The One who is pure from any imperfection). The bacteria, bugs, ants, and many raptors that clean the earth; wind, rain, snow; icebergs and fishes in the oceans; atmosphere in the sky; black holes in the heaven; oxygen that cleans blood in our bodies and spiritual breathings that ease distresses in our souls, all announce the name Al-Quddus and manifest the God Himself beyond that name.

Face (Visage) Proof: Any human’s face down to the smallest details does not bear any resemblance to billions of people, who have ever lived before him/her. This rule is valid for the people who will ever come after him/her. ‘Face proof’ is a mighty announcement that introduces God (who knows His creation down to the smallest details and who has power to shape His creation how ever He wishes, who can draw billions of pictures as identical for one view and different from each other for another view and distinguish those which have possibility of looking alike from among billions of pictures and put things in order out of infinite possibilities) to the deafest ears.

Creation and Conscience Proof: There are uncountable proofs and signs in the creation and in the inborn characteristics of a human. For to give a case to a point; the inborn characteristics and the human conscience know that every blessing it receives, requires gratitude. If he/she had ever received a prophet or had found the way of God, he/she expresses gratitude to God. Otherwise, he/she would worship to fallacious deities. This worshipping becomes true by the urging of human conscience. The feeling of appreciation also exists in the human nature. Shows, exhibitions take place because of that feeling. Humans as in accordance with their inhered creation, are in the state of expressing gratitude to the stars parade on the sky, to the flowers and trees show off on the ground, to the gazelles and lions in the forests, to the fishes in the oceans and are in the state of expressing gratitude to the divine art’s perfection demonstrated on them (by God).

‘History’ as a Proof: (The history of religions be witness), humanity have never had an age without a religion. They were sometimes fallacious and even absurd, but they have never left to follow a spiritual system. This need is inhered to the creation of human by God and human is responsible to believe in it.

‘Qur’an’ as a Proof: Every reason that proves that Qur’an is the ‘word of God’s also proves God’s existence. There are hundreds of evidences and these are all available down to the smallest detail in the related Islamic sources. In addition, these proofs spell as, “God exist” peculiar to their language.

‘Prophets’ as a Proof: Every reason that proves the existence of Prophets and especially of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) (master of the two realms), have to be added to the reasons that proves God’s existence. For the reason of Prophet’s existence announces ‘Tawheed’ (Unification, Oneness of God). If that is so, every reason that proves the prophets’ prophethood, proves the existence of God’s existence at the same time. Every reason that proves their being ‘True Prophet’ declares that “God exists and One” with the same amount of enforcement or even lot more.

Is there a kursi(chair) for God. some people say that god is sitting on his kursi

Is there a kursi(chair) for God. some people say that god is sitting on his kursi by taking the reference of aaitul kursi?

“His Kursi (chair or pulpit) extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them.” (Al-Baraqah Surah, 2:255) What does ‘Kursi’ mean that reads in the verse?

A Kursi is the chair or high seat upon which a ruler is seated on. While it means a big object that embraces the heavens and earth, it is sovereignty, dominion, supremacy, regality, greatness in metaphorical meaning.

In an hadith, it is stated, “Seven Heavens in comparison to the Kursi, are like seven dirhem coins set in a shield.” In another hadith, to signfy the greatness of Arsh (Throne) than that of a Kursi, it is made a comparison of the Kursi to the ‘Arsh is that of a ring thrown in a vast desert’.

“The Kursi is said to be under Arsh, but above the seven heavens.” Even though they are few, some scholars consider Kursi and Arsh as same things.

Kursi is an object above the material world. It is a mass, which embraces the heavens and earth; and all of the physical worlds. According to this, it cannot be thought that Arsh’s extending over the Kursi is something like a matter’s extending over another matter. Arsh is an object, splendor and grandeur of which are beyond matter and description. How it encapsulates the Kursi is something that boggle human mind. Human does not yet understand the true nature of himself, and unable to know how he moves his arms, feet, etc. Therefore, how could he shoulders such a burden?

“His Kursi (chair or pulpit) extends over the heavens and the earth…” And the word ‘Kursi’ in the verse is a figure of speech. It is not a material object nor does it signify neither any place nor it is physically created. It is not a thing on which God is imagined as being seated but is a symbol of His power and rule, which indicates His might, ability to control, authority, dominion, and mastery.

Although God is present everywhere, what does it mean to return to Him?

Although God is present everywhere, what does it mean to return to Him?

Verses about returning to God end like: “You will be returned to us in the end.” or “Then you will be returned and taken to Him.” As there is no moment man goes out of the management of his Lord because he handles all his dealings with the power and other facilities God bestows upon him, how shall we understand returning to Him? The point mostly debated is that human beings who are subject to test with their small wills will go to the Presence of God. In the world of past eternity, our souls were addressed: “Am I not your Lord?” We replied, “Yes, you are our Lord.” When we were cast to the test of world, we were faced with the realm of causes. Always when the sun rose, it got bright; always when the spring came, flowers bloomed. We have always taken our cereal and vegetables from ground, and our fruits from trees. This caused some people to become oblivious, and some to give thanks. These two groups of people will eventually be returned to their Lord, after the world of test is closed, and through the grave, they will proceed to the Day of Judgment. Again, they will be gathered before their Lord. This gathering is a returning. This will be without our will. The term ‘being returned’ gives us this lesson. Another verse giving us the lesson of another returning: “How can ye reject the faith in Allah.- seeing that ye were without life, and He gave you life; then will He cause you to die, and will again bring you to life; and again to Him will ye return.” (Al-Baqarah Surah, 2:28) When he is dead, i.e. his substance is in the realm of dead elements; man is resurrected and given the shape of human. Then, he dies again and the body returns to its original composition, i.e. becomes totally elements. This phase is followed by resurrection and proceeding to the Day of Judgment. So there are two deaths, two resurrections and two different returns: one from death to death…the other from life to life. Another verse about returning: "To Allah We belong, and to Him is our return" (Al-Baqarah Surah, 2:156) Both the ones who surrender and the ones who rebel will gather before His Presence and return to Him. It is festivity for the one who lived as His slave and left this place of test with faith to return to his Lord in the Hereafter. But the ones who lived in the property of God without knowing Him and without obeying His commands will return to their Lord with unbelief and rebellion. Therefore, with the term ‘returning’ we should understand the Day of Judgment. We must put both scenes before our selves through imagination so that it does not deviate from the way of acceptance (of God), does not be taken in by the transitory pleasures of the world, and stays away from the off-limits. So that it takes lesson from the verse: “For the command that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah.” (Al-Infitaar Surah, 82:19) and without waiting for that day, today surrenders to His commandment and accepts His decree. So that it thus obeys the command of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): “Die before you die.” and returns to the right path, God has shown, in the World. So that its return in the Hereafter results in bliss. God, who is above place and time, bound us His slaves to place and time. So wherever he dies, man returns to His Lord, who is above place. Likewise, whenever he dies, he returns to His Lord who is above time.

Where is Allah?

The question word “where” can be asked for the things that have a space. These are material things. Just as space is matter, those, which have a space in it, are also matter. Something like this is out of question about Allah (SWT), Whose one of the names is Noor (Heavenly Light) and, Who created the space and the matter. Moreover, among creatures are those, which do not exist in space at all. The closest example of this is our own soul.

Our organs have spaces. Hence, it is possible to ask questions such as “Where is lung?” or “Where is kidney?” However, we cannot ask such questions about the soul, about its functions and feelings. For example, we cannot ask questions such as “Where is soul? Where does mind inhabit? Where are the spaces of love, fear, memory?

Instead of taking his body as a criterion, which is material and bound up with space, if man thinks about the realm of souls, angels and the laws in effect in nature -all of which are to some extent independent of space- there would be no need for such a question.

Why can’t we see Allah in this world?

One of the names of Allah is Noor (Heavenly Light). Everything, from luminous beings, which are angels, to the sunshine and all rays exist in the universe, bears various manifestations of this name. Human eyes, in this world, are able to see only the material world. They can see neither their own souls, nor the angels who record their acts, nor the rays.

It has been found out that human eyes are able to detect only 2.5 % of the total rays in the universe. Expecting to see Allah with human eyes, Who is the creator of all luminous beings in the universe, at least becomes a contrary notion to the laws of physics. Another aspect of the point is that man is under a testing in this world. That Allah’s having been seen is also contrary to this mystery of testing.

The fact that Allah is not seen by our physical eyes is because of His covering everything with His knowledge and His having no opposite equivalent.

For example, just as the atmosphere surrounds everything on earth all over, if we suppose that the sun also surrounds all space, then it would be impossible to see the sun with eyes. The sun would be invisible since everywhere would be covered with the rays of it. For it has no opposite equivalent as is the case with night, the sun would be invisible and it would be rather difficult to understand its nature. However, it would be ignorance to deny the existence of the sun, which exists everywhere with its light and surrounds everything.

Yet within the same perspective of logic, the same situation can be also considered for Allah Almighty, Who surrounds everything with His names and attributes, Who exists everywhere, and Who has no opposite equivalent.

The situation is completely different in the case of the Hereafter. The spirits of the people of Paradise will dominate their bodies. The original forms of beings, which are in the manner of shades in this earthly life, are going to be created anew there. Man will go to Paradise as a person who is worthy of it at all points and who is allowed to make use of its all bounties. One must think about the fact that even in Paradise, the occurrence of Ru’yah (seeing Allah) will not take place constantly.

That is to say that, the people of Paradise will take on a different appearance and this divine gift will take place in a special environment, which is peculiar to them. As a matter of fact, the information of not to be recognized by their families when they are back from Ru’yah indicates that.
