:salam2:
I pray this post finds you all in the best of health and emaan...
“Teach others, make things easy, not difficult. When any of you is in a state of anger, let him keep silent.” (Related by Al-Bukhari in Al Adab Al Mufrad and by Ahmad
As the hadith points out, teaching others and helping them shine light into issues is an essential part of being a muslim. If the ummah is like a body we must all try to help all the different parts of the body to keep it strong and healthy. I think this is one of the reasons some of us have chosen to be part of TTI to gain and share knowledge inshAllah.
A big part of this is of course dawah, but is also guiding other muslims to the right path.
The thing is we sometimes don't realize that we are not only teaching others in a halaqa, in an islamic seminar, in a islamic forum or in the mosque. We teach muslims and non-muslims about islam every minute of the day. Now this might seem like a hard task but is what we are here to do. Know that every step we take even when we are not aware of may help or not a person learn something about Islam.
Now if there is great hasanat by teaching the right thing to others there is also great responsibility in teaching something wrong. How can any of us afford being denied any hasanat when we are all just here to please Allah t'ala....
As an example I was browsing the internet for some islamic knowledge and I came across an increasing trend amongst muslim sisters. Thousands of videos, pictures and blogs about hijab and fashion. And my issue was not so much with the word "fashion" as with the number of sisters competing and praising each other with looks that seemed far from what hijab was about. I do not by any means would want to judge any sister since I know first-hand that hijab is a process and like with everything the more knowledge you get the better you become. However what scared me was the fact that many new sisters or even old time hijabis were using this as an inspiration model for themselves.
This is not a post about hijab but how even how what we say, do or how we look can affect others and how this can either benefit us or harm us. I think we ought to become aware that even when we think is our life and our decision and is affecting only us, that there might be someone who would also be affected .
I ask Allah to forgive me in any transgression and anything good comes from Allah (swt)
