What day is Laylatul Qadr?

As Ramadan is around the corner, I can't help but think about The Night of Power. As we all know, it is said to be one of the odd-numbered nights of the last ten days. But of course, there are people who insist it has to be the 27th.

I want people to come to the mosque on every day of the last week (and ideally everyday in Ramadan). What can I tell people to convince them that only Allah (SWT) knows the actual night and that each of these days has an equal possibility of being the "right" day? As such, they shouldn't gamble away 1000 months of worship . . .

Shab-e-Qadr means ‘the night of power’ or ‘the night of respect’; the most blessed of all the nights of the year according to Islam. In the Qur'an and aHadith it is referred to as Lailatu’l-Qadr. In this night, five verses of Al-Alaq, the first surah (chapter) of the Qur'an was revealed. About Shab-e-Qadr the Quran says: it is the night in which the Quran was revealed; it is better than a thousand months; during this night the angles including Jibra’il [as] descended with the permission of their Lord.

Narrated ‘Aisha radi allaho anha:Allah’s Apostle Sal Allahu alaihi wasallam said,“Search for the Night of Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan.”

Narrated Ibn Abbas radi allaho anh: The Prophet Sal Allahu alaihi wasallam said, "Look for the Night of Qadr in the last ten nights of Ramadan ,' on the night when nine or seven or five nights remain out of the last ten nights of Ramadan (i.e. 21, 23, 25, ... respectively)."

Narrated 'Ubada bin As-Samit radi allaho anh: The Prophet Sal Allahu alaihi wasallam came out to inform us about the Night of Qadr but two Muslims were quarreling with each other. So, the Prophet said, "I came out to inform you about the Night of Qadr but such-and-such persons were quarreling, so the news about it had been taken away; yet that might be for your own good, so search for it on the 29th, 27th and 25th (of Ramadan) [odd nights].
