What do you think of the Orthodox Union

I dont know how many of you have heard of this group, but its a Jewish organization that certifies food whether they are kosher or not.You may recognize their Kosher symbol by U with a circle around it.I was wondering can Muslims easily see that symbol and conclude that its also halal ? Do kosher and halal have same standards ?

Just trying to be cautious !

Yes, the organization is pretty reliable on most counts, and the Kosher food products are generally Halal. Just be careful to still read the ingredients though, because I think sometimes some products are Kosher but they might have alcohol/gelatin in them.

Edit: I came across a site that mentions that Jews don't mention the name of Allah on the slaughter? Is this true? Can anybody confirm because this is the first time I'm hearing of this.
