what does allah mean in this verse in the quran ???

"Verily, Allah will never change the condition of a people until they change what is within themselves"

:salam2:

from what i gather it means something like this: a person says he wants to be hafidh-ul-quran, yet he doesn't practice or read the quran. so how can he do this if he's watching tv instead of reading quran?

people say " there's a problem with the ummah. " yet they don't even attend jummah or say salaams. how can it be united under that condition?

but when you really look and ponder that ayat. you'll ultimately come to realize that you will not be successful without salah and your dua. when people are oppressed and want god to make a change, how do they let that be known? of course Allah SWT knows the hearts of men, but we officially make our niyyah through our salah and our duas to Allah SWT.

think about, the very adhan that we hear 5 times a day says " hayya al-falah, hayya al-falah " come to success! come to success! what is success or what makes you successful in this life? the answer is salah.

It is part of Surah Ar-Rad(chapter 13) and verse 11.

Complete aayat is:

13:11 For each one(human), there are(angels) one following the other, before and behind him; They guard him by the command of Allah. Surely Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change it themselves. But when Allah wills a punishment for a people, there is no holding it back; Nor will they find, anyone other than Him, to protect them.
