As the sister said (JazakAllahu Khair), by Allah's Will and Mercy, they will be granted Jannah because their suffering is right now.

Also, remember that one of the types of people who are excused by Allah (I.E. not blamed for their actions) are the insane. "Insane" can also go to mean mentally retarded (this is what I believe, may Allah correct me if I'm wrong). The Prophet Muhammad :)saw:) has said this (about the insane being excused).

AssalaamuAlaikum,

It also depends upon what were the deeds of a person before he became mentally retarded. There are some people who become spiritually so sick that they become mad, or some people have clash of personalities in them (want to do good and want to do bad too, but both feelings very intense).

Some people do black magic, it is so sick that sometimes they can get mentally sick forever too.

If a person is born retard or became mad due to some normal reasons or some clamity etc, then Allah is merciful and has endless blessing which never can finish.

Wassalaam,

salam!!
ma sha allaah, GOOD comments everyone!!!
allaah suba7anahu wata'alaa is actuly sooo kind that if we get sick we get purified...
The sick person has four peculiarities: His misdeeds are off the record, Allah commands an angel to record every kindness he used to do in his health, his illness goes after every organ in his body and removes its sins from it so that he will end up being forgiven whether he dies (from the illness) or survives it.

we thank allah(swt)...subahana alllah everything has a reason... and allaah tells us... even a sick person is given his rights..what more then that would pleas our nation....

may allah be pleased with us.
