I 2 questions about prayer:

First, can I close my eyes when I'm praying?

Second, how can I have 100% focus on my prayer when I'm Praying?

its sunnah to open eyes while praying, but you can close them if you want.
2. well, i imagine Allah is looking at me, and the paradise is infront of me, (there was a thread about his) see below
mostly i use this; (dont ask why:lol i imagine a series of numbers from 1-10
and focus on the five, its blue normally, so thats it, MY personal method ..inshallah it benefits you!

it is best to pray while having one's eyes open during the salat, but praying with one's eyes closed is not forbidden. it is usually done by people that get easily distracted. i myself prefer to pray with my eyes closed because my eyes would sometimes wander. when we pray with our eyes open we should focus on the spot where our heads will touch the floor.

as for developing khushoo in salat, it takes a bit of concentration. i try to think about beautiful things. i try to picture jannah in front of me. ALLAH SWT watching above me, and my guardian angels beside me.

what I know is... according to Hanafis

1) In salat your eyes should be open. during qiyaam the eye focus to be at
the place of sujud, during rukuh the eyes must see between toes.during
(prostration) also to be open.

2) the salat should be performed with khushoo. There are two ways to
achieve it.

a) In salat, try to concentrate that Allah is watching me

b) In salat, try to concentrate that I am watching Allah.

, the most hope from Allah is to attain khushoo

whats khushoo?

i was just reading the links but im confuzed it didnt say what khushoo is.
was interesting tho. gosh i didnt ever think to pray like that.
hmm yea imagine praying with the prophets!! wow how awesome would dat b eh? lol

oh i do wish my prayers get accepted. i really used to rush and pray with words when i first started islam.then a friend watched me and said ive got to understand what im saying not just get it over with otherwise my prayer will be turned back! i got sooooo scared esp when he said an unaccepted prayer is turned back like a black cloth against ur face? something like that. but im more concentrated n focused now tho..but reading this i guess not too much eh?
