Why do you pray (الصلاة) ?

On a day ....
an old man, asked:
"Why do you pray (الصلاة) ?"
I said:
"The fear of the punishment of hell"
He laughed, and asked again:
"Why do you pray (الصلاة) ?"
I said:
"I want to go to heaven"
He laughed, and said
"Learn Quran with sincerity and earnestness
Up in the night and pray (الصلاة)
May Allah enlighten your hearts and minds"
What is wrong and funny so he laughs!?

One day she came to
After a long time we did not meet
old man, asked:
"Why do you pray (الصلاة) ?"
I said:
"To expect blessing and love from Allah , for all that I do in the name of HIM"
Now she does not laugh, her eyes staring at me cool
"test will come to you, be patient (الصابرين) and focused (istiqamah) in the faith"
I was silent and bowed

:bismillah1:
أحسب الناس أن يتركوا أن يقولوا آمنا وهم لا يفتنون*
ولقد فتنا الذين من قبلهم فليعلمن الله الذين صدقوا وليعلمن الكاذبين*
(Q.S. 29 : 2-3)

"Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, "We believe", and that they will not be tested?
We did test those before them, and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false." (Q.S. 29 : 2-3)

wa iyyaki. If I got bored with mistakes in people's language I would be in the wrong place :) But I find it is much better to have something to say with any words than it is to have beautiful words with nothing behind them.

I don't mind to help out, how your English will improve is to practise it, and you will gain confidence, in sha Allah.
