usually when someone comes and complains to people of knowledge about being posssesed they always inform them about seeing a doctor to make sure that it is not some physical or mental illness. If everything looks normal and the person can't stand suddenly his wife or wife her husband, or person can't Stanton the recitation of qurAn or he himself can't recite no more and he gets sick do to that, or attending massajids and riches people etc ..than, a person can be tested for possesiom.
Just know as it is mention in one Hadith and in collection of the 40 Hadith imam nawawi that the prophet said to a companion that if all the people from the first to the last jinns and inns (people) gathered to cause u some benefit, they would not be able to unles by permission of Allah. Also if they all gathered to cause u evil, they could not unless with permission of Allah.
Bottom line is, if Allah protects His servants nobody can harm them.
