Allah said: Qaala rabbokom'od owniy astajiblakom.
Question: Why is it that we make prayers (du'as) yet the same are not accepted?
Answer: Surely it:salam2: is because our hearts have become dead due to the following:
Firstly, we have known who Allah is, yet we fulfill not His commandments; secondly, we recite the Qur'an yet, we practice not upon it; thirdly, we proclaim our love of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) yet we practice not his sunnah; fourthly, we pronounce that shaitan is our enemy yet we stood with him; fifthly, we pronounce our desire for Jannah (Heaven), yet we do nothing to achieve it; sixthly, we pronounce our fear for Jahannam (Hell-Fire), yet we do none to escape it; seventh, we proclaimed that there is no escape from death, yet we do not prepare for it; eight, we indulge in finding fault of others, yet we left out our own faults; ninth, we enjoy the blessings and bounties of Allah, yet we don't praise and give thanks for it; tenth, we bury our dead, yet we get no admonition at all.
