Will our good deeds replace our sins?

Muslim_Gurl

Thank You Allah!
Assalamu alaykum warahmatullah
I pray everyone is doing well :tti_sister:
I was just wondering, will our good deeds replace our sins on the Day of Judgment? Because we all have sins, does that mean we all are gonna have a taste of Hellfire?

Thankxx

Save him who repents and believes and does righteous work; as for such, Allah will change their evil deeds to good deeds. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful. (Quran, 025.070)

not at all. you must have read hadith about woman who gave drink to a thirsty dog and man who killed 100 people.

Allah says: "Whoever knows that I am able to forgive all sins, I shall forgive him, and I shall not mind, so long as he does not associate anything with Me." [At-Tabarani]

Prophet (peace be upon him) also said: "The one who repents from his sin is like the one who did not sin in the first place." [Ibn Majah]

also many of us will not go into hell due to intercession of prophet (peace be upon him)

Jazak Allahu khair for your reply. I get that now...

I'm still a bit confused though.

"And none of you but is passing by it (the Hellfire)"

So everyone will have to pass by it? Even the good people?

Ohh and I forgot to add, what does it mean by "passing by"?
Thanks :)

That is the Siraat (bridge) over the Hellfire. We will all walk it and see the Hellfire and feel its heat from a safe distance. Why such a scare? In order for those saved from it, may God make us and our loved ones from them, they will appreciate the reward even more.

This is also mentioned in Soorat At-Takaathur,
"Then you will surely see it (Hellfire) with the eye of certainty." (102:7)

Ohhhh! Alright, I understand.
Thank you

as Siraat is mentioned here, i would like to tell one thing. i read that those who will have to pass over the bridge (siraat) will be given light to see the way.

the hypocrites also will be given light but it will be snatched frm them in the middle way and they will be in darkness. then they will say to the believers:

One Day will the Hypocrites- men and women - say to the Believers: "Wait for us! Let us borrow (a Light) from your Light!" It will be said: "Turn ye back to your rear! then seek a Light (where ye can)!" (Quran, 057.013)

and according to Mujahid (ra), believers will pray to Allah: "our Lord! Perfect for us our light and forgive us, surely You are potent over everything." (surah Tahrim)

Salaamu 'alaykkum, I would like to take opportunity to share these 2 verses of the Qur'aan...

25:70 Except those who repent and believe (in Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, for those, Allah will change their sins into good deeds, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

25:71 And whosoever repents and does righteous good deeds, then verily, he repents towards Allah with true repentance.
