Depends on exactly what images come up in the mind when speaker labels someone as 'fanatic' .

Keeping the labels aside, here are some revelations and Hadees, which tells me whats expected from a Muslim. Hope this helps.

“Those who spend (of that which Allah hath given them) in ease and in adversity, those who control their wrath and are forgiving toward mankind; Allah loveth the good;” [Qur'an 3:134]

“ O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allah and be just witnesses and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Well-Acquainted with what you do.” [Qur'an 5:8 ]

“And insult not those whom they (disbeliever's) worship besides Allaah, lest they insult Allaah wrongfully without knowledge.” [Qur'an Al-An'aam 6:108]

“The true servants of the Most Merciful are those who behave gently and with humility on earth, and whenever the foolish quarrel with them, they reply with [words of] peace.”[Qur'an 25: 63]

“O you who believe let not one group of people make fun of another, perhaps the (one's being made fun of) are better then them. And let not women make fun of other women perhaps the (woman being made fun of) is better then them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by (offensive) nicknames. Wretched is the name (i.e. mention) of disobedience after (one's) faith. And whoever does not repent – then it is those who are the Dhaalimoon (the wrongdoers)” [Qur'an 49:11]

“Allah forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for Allah loveth those who are just.” [Qur'an 60:8]

“Allah only forbids you with regard to those who fight you for your faith, and drive you out of your homes and support others in driving you out, from turning to them for protection (or taking them as wali). Those who seek their protection they are indeed wrong- doers” [Qur'an 60:9]

P.S: Am using these Aya for third time in last two days, after seeing somebody, who identified self as muslim, behave in a manner, that could make others feel alienated or hate Muslims

Prophet :saw: sayings from various hadees

>> “The most hated man to Allah is the most violent of adversaries.”

>> “The best of you are those with good conduct and dispositions.”

>> “Among the Muslims more perfect in faith is he whose manners are better." (Abu Dawood)

>> “The merciless man will not receive any mercy from Allah.”

>> “He is not strong and powerful who throws people down; but he is strong who withholds himself from anger. ”

>> “You will never be permitted to enter paradise unless after you believe in Allah. You will not have such a belief unless you love each other. Shall I not inform you of a better act which, if done, you would befriend yourselves to one another? Make peace between you.”

>> “A Muslim is he from the mischief of whose tongue and hand the Muslims are safe and a Momin (faithful Believer) is he on whose account people do not feel a threat to their life and property.” (Tirmidhi)

Assalaam walaikum,

Sister,

Words are so laden ( heavy) with what current meaning is applied to them. Once upon a time gay was happy. Today, it is not.

Our Prophet, swas, was called a fanatic. Well..if that is the case I am a fanatic lover.

We know who Allah subhana wa taala loves. He has defined that for us in the Quran. And for those of us need a more concrete reminder we have the examples of the Messenger of Allah as well as our pious predecessors.
That is really all we need to know.

Glad you brought this up.

If this is true, then God must have hated me at one time. I was a Muslim-hating member of Stormfront for a while, until just last year, in fact. But look at me now.

So I'm not really sure that God hates fanatics, because if He did, would I be here now?
