Assalamou Alaikoum
this is a serious matter...
I am originally from north africa where they do sing the burdah a lot
I attended in Toronto a burdah session and I was kind of bothered?
is it a sunnah? is it approved by the prophet and his sahabah?
I read some comments that it contains a lot of shirks such as seeking refuge and healing from the messenger and not from God. how come we dont spend that much of time reading the quran and reciting it while those people read and meorize al busiri poems and his feelings. why can't they write their own feelings and praise the prophet that way..I spoke to a brother and he was telling me about those Tariqah and ways, and that the founders saint and he called then radia allahu anhum.. it just bothered me a lot
Without offend to the suffi brothers, I just wanted to know if it is wrong and avoid it or something praised and we should do it.

Someone asked a shaykh regarding this, and he said that undoubtedly it is shirk. I'll try to get the evidence Insha Allaah.
