id like to explain this differently. after all the transactions been done.
here are the accounts.
Total Money Spent by the customers (A)
$30 - $3 = $27 = $9 x 3
money earned by the hotel manager (B)
$25
money stolen by the waiter (C)
$2
A = B + C
30-3 = 25 + 2 = $27 (accounts are balanced)
Now, id like to know why you are adding 2 to 27, when 27 already includes the $2 stolen by the waiter?
Nice one! I originally wanted to explain this problem using equations as clear and concise as this one... but couldn't come up with them at that time.
