Assalaamu Walaikum!
Praise be to Allah, may Allah subhanawata'ala bestow peace and blessings upon The Holy Prophet Muhammad sallallualaihiwassallam and on his family and companions. And may Allah also give peace to all the other prophets alahisallam and their families and companions.

Aoothubillahimisnashaitaneerajeem.
Bismillaheerahmaniraheem.

Ok, so, I am muslim, Alhamdulillah, and I try to be the best Ican be,because, long ago, iwas a very bad "muslim" astaghfirullah. But then subhanallah Allah guided me with his mercy and now I am trying to be the best muslim i can be.:D
Unfortunately, when ever I try to concentrate during salah, dua, dhikr, wudu and even whilst saying Bismillah, I get these bad thoughts that shouldn't even be mentioned here, astaghfirullah. *shudders*

I really have no intention to think these, it's just mybrain always sends signals (and Satan) to think bad, bad things... Thus, I try to do EVERYTHING perfect, and sometimes I try so hard that Iend upspending a long time in the bathroom redoing wudu that I have to pray fast :blue: and i don't have enough concentration during salah and i feel guilty after i have finished, so ido a really really really LONG dua and dhikr afterwards. (seriously, like i'm sure i've spent like 40 minutes just doing salah.)
It is just becuse I fear Allah, and i've been depressed a lot of my life, so I turn to only Allah to help me.
What makes it worse is that i get worried Allah subhanawata'ala won't accept this, even being the most merciful, for he is most superior and i have done HEAPS of sins in my lifetime.

It's just really hard. And I pray that Allah subhanawata'ala guides me and all the muslims around the world...
Jazakallah for reading this, may Allah subhana wata'ala the most gracious have mercy on you, Ameen.:dua:

Walaikum as salaam wa rahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

During salah, what distracts me are things I was occupied with outside of Salah. We have to take it one step at a time. First point, if I allow myself to drift in a million nonsense thoughts and activities outside of salah, then most likely same will happen during salah.

Second, where did you read that you have to repeat wudu if you have bad thoughts during salah, or right before salah? Is that an Islamic ruling? I'm not sure myself about that. I just continue on anyway. Before I used to be like you, thinking, more like guessing, that any dot of bad thought invalidates my wudu, and it used to leave me very frustrated. I think it is whispers from the shaytan just to make you frustrated with salah itself, and make it harder on you than it really is.

Third, I think it may help you to understand what you're saying when you're praying. That way, when you are in salah, you can simultaneously think about the meaning and concentrate on that rather than other things.

Fourth, if thoughts are constantly bombarding you, then it may be a good idea to recite Surat Al-'Ikhlas, Surat Al-Falak, and Suran An-Nas, every morning and evening, also try to read or play Surat Al Baqarah often. These are some advice I have gotten from a knowledgeable person to help decrease my waswaasa (whispers from shaytan).

Lastly, your statement is contradictory, when you say you believe Allah is the most Merciful and then say He can't possibly forgive your sins. :/ I think if Allah were not Merciful (astaghfirullah), we would already be in our graves receiving punishment. The fact that we are still alive and breathing is a sign of Allah's mercy, and we still have a chance.

Reminds me if this verse:

"O my sons! Go you and enquire about Yusuf (Joseph) and his brother, and never give up hope of Allah's Mercy. Certainly no one despairs of Allah's Mercy, except the people who disbelieve." (Surat Yusuf, Verse 87)

And this quote:

Ibn Qayyim (Rahimullah)

“The Heart, in its journey to Allah (swt) is like that of a bird:
Love is its head, and fear and hope are its two wings. When the
head and two wings are sound the bird flies gracefully; if the
head is severed, the bird dies; if the bird loses one of its wings, it
then becomes a target for every hunter or predator.”

Going to one extreme or another is detrimental to our Imaan, and sanity. Anyways, hope this is helpful. Also, there are many articles online about not despairing the Mercy of Allah. Let me know if you need help finding more articles on the topic.

P.S.: lol @ your poll question.

Thank You, Sisterfor replying to my post. May Allah reward you for helping me and bless you and ur family.
Your part about Allah's Mercy made a point, so i hope Allah forgives me foranything i said wrong in my post. Ameen.
During Salah, I do concentrate on the meanings, Alhamdulillah, it's just sometimes bad meanings come into my mind instead.:/
And I have one more question, do you think my dua is too long, I usually do attayatu thingy then i do peace and blessings on Prophet Muhammad sallallahualahiwassallam and his family and companions 3x thenPeace upon allthe other prophets alahiwassallam and their families and companions 3x, then I say Please Allah, give the Holy Prophet Muhammad sallallahualahiwassallam the highest station in paradise. Then i do dua on myself, my families, (those rabbana... ones) then prtotection knowledge, good deeds, forgivefulnessand my any wishes 3 x each for all thethings i have said, and i usualy saythem over again if they're not perfect.
not enough time for spelling corrdctions sorry.

Yes, I think so, you are now.

Did you make Tawbah for the things you used to do? If those things are troubling you, you should think if you sincerely repented from them and asked Allah swt for His forgiveness. Perhaps someone else can expand on that, but I would consider it.

If you did make Tawbah, I think this could be wiswas. Maybe this thread will be beneficial for you to read, in shaa Allah

Ameen and you too, jazaki Allahu khairan. I'm not really sure how to answer that, sorry. What do you mean by 'they're not perfect'?

Sister,What I mean by "not perfect" is like, if i'm reciting bad thoughts might come to my mind or i'm not concentrating enough (e.g: thinking about past events)
Allah havemercy and guide all muslims, Ameen.

Ameen!

Tawbah is repentance. It is explained nicely here: http://www.islam-qa.com/en/14289

These are some of the conditions of Tawbah
1 – Giving up the sin immediately.
2 – Regretting what has happened in the past.
3 – Resolving not to go back to it.
4 – Making amends to those whom you have wronged, or asking for their forgiveness.

There is more detailed discussion here: http://turntoislam.com/community/threads/conditions-of-tawbah-repentance.1069/
I hesitate to provide the more detailed discussion as I worry it may be too much detail for you right now, but it is the source for those four conditions.
It sounds as though you have already done most of those, but if things are still on your mind, I only meant for you to consider if you have made amends to anyone, asking their forgiveness or the forgiveness of Allah. So please don't spend too much time just now on the detailed discussion, unless it is purely to learn, in shaa Allah. I mention Tawbah because I think it is possible, but I think you will benefit more from reading the posts on wiswas.

Forgive me if I made things seem complicated. I mean only to give a full answer to the best of my ability.

Salaam alaikum

Wa`alaikum salaam warahmatullaahi wabarakaatuh.

I can't imagine how that's possible if you're only 13 now...
But then subhanallah Allah guided me with his mercy and now I am trying to be the best muslim i can be.:D
Alhamdulillaah. We should always aim for the highest and make as much effort as possible to be the Muhsineen (the highest level a Muslim can attain, the level of practically being a perfect worshipper of Allaah `azza wa jall)

It's just really hard.
Little sister, I can't seem to understand how you've been through so much when you've only recently matured? Subhaanalllah maybe it's just me...
But anyhow, what you're experiencing is bad case of wasaawus. The brother has already directed you to a good thread that deals with it.

The waswaas during salaah is caused by a devil by the name of Khinzab, na`oodhu billaah. This is mostly the result of lack of khushoo` in our prayers. It's not something east to attain and requires much effort but it's doable. And we should all strive to gain it because salaah withouht khushoo` is like a body without a soul.
This is very relevant I think, it should help ease a little bit of your worries insha'Allaah.

Some of the Sahaabah complained about the waswaas that was bothering them. Some of the companions of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said to him, ‘We find in ourselves thoughts that are too terrible to speak of.’ He said, ‘Are you really having such thoughts?’ They said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘That is a clear sign of faith.’” (Narrated by Muslim). (Narrated by Muslim, 132 from the hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah).

Al-Nawawi said in his commentary on this hadeeth (narration): “The Prophet’s words, ‘That is a clear sign of faith’ means, the fact that think of this waswaas as something terrible is a clear sign of faith, for if you dare not utter it and you are so afraid of it and of speaking of it, let alone believing it, this is the sign of one who has achieved perfect faith and who is free of doubt.”

And everything I'd like to say is practically summed up here:

The remedy:
1 – If you feel that you are being affected by this waswaas, say, “Aamantu Billaahi wa Rasoolihi (I believe in Allaah and His Messenger).” It was narrated from ‘Aa’ishah that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The Shaytaan comes to one of you and says, ‘Who created you?’ And he says ‘Allaah.’ Then the Shaytaan says, ‘Who created Allaah?’ If that happens to any one of you, let him say, Aamantu Billaahi wa Rusulihi (I believe in Allaah and His Messenger). Then that will go away from him.”
(Narrated by Ahmad, 25671; classed as hasan (sound)by al-Albaani in al-Saheehah, 116).

2 – Try to stop thinking about that as much as possible, and keep busy with things that will distract you from it.
Finally we advise you to keep on turning to Allaah in all situations, and to ask Him for help, and to beseech Him, and to ask Him to make you steadfast until death, and to cause you to die doing righteous deeds…

I pray that Allah subhanawata'ala guides me and all the muslims around the world...

Jazakallah for reading this, may Allah subhana wata'ala the most gracious have mercy on you,

Wa iyyaaki and Allahumma Aameen.
