A brief definition of Iman and its branches

Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said: ‘Imaan (faith) consists of more than 60 branches. The highest of which is to say La ila ha illa Allah and the lowest of which is to remove a harmful object from the street [Sahih Bukhari]

Remember

1) Linguistically, Imaan is generally defined as ‘belief’
2) The definition of Imaan includes testifying with the tongue, believing

in the heart and acting with the limbs
3) The pillars of Imaan are to believe in Allah, His Angels,

His Books,His Messengers, The Last Day & Divine Destiny (Al-Qadr)
4) The branches of Imaan include various actions of the heart,

tongue and limbs
5) Imaan increases with good actions and decreases with evil actions
6) Some evil actions can nullify Imaan e.g. practising magic,

reading palms, supplicating to other than Allah,
7) maan is the greatest bounty from Allah to his servants
8) Through Dua to Almighty Allah and righteous actions our Imaan will remain strong, Insha’allah
