Ever since I first heard about him in surah al-kahf as a child, i've been real curious (understatement) about his nature. Who is he? I've been trying to do some research, like if he had been mentioned in other surahs, or maybe ahadith or anything. But I keep coming across sufi nonsense about him guiding them once in awhile and hitchhiking (i kid you not...probably some jinn), and giving them advice along the way.
Is there any information about this mysterious man that was teaching a prophet of allah about patience? Or is it one of those things that nothing more than what is mentioned in the quran is known?
