ABWAB KABA'IR AL-LISAN

Chapter 15: EVILS OF TONGUE

Allah, the Exalted says:

''The (faithful) slaves of the Beneficent are they who walk upon the earth modestly, and when the foolish ones address them answer:peace (Al-Furqan:63)
''And when they hear vanity they withdraw from it.'' (Al-Qasas:55)
''He uttereth no word but there is with him an observer ready''.

Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoso believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him speak good or keep silent. (Tirmidhi)

Chapter 16: TALKATIVENESS

Mughira bin Shu'ba (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Allah made unlawful to disobedience to mothers, burying a live of daughters, and refusing help; and Allah dislike for you frivolous gossips, frequent questions and squandering property. (Agreed upon)

Jabir (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said He who is best among you in conduct will be dearest and nearest to me in the paradise. the most distant of me among you and the object of most hatred are those persons who are talkatives, the loud-tongued, and the mutafaihequns i.r., the proud.

Chapter 17: GLIBNESS IN TALK

Allah, the Exalted says:

''And when thou seest them their figures please thee; and if they speak thou givest ear unto their speech. (Al-Munafiqun:4)

'Abdullah bin 'Umar (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Verily, many a speech is enchantment, and verily many a poetry is sound sense. (Bukhari)

'Abdullah bin 'Umar (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Allah hates the man who talk glibly, who moves about his tongue as the cow. (Tirmidhi)

Chapter 18: CONTENTIOUSNESS

Allah, the Exalted says:

''Yet he is the most rigid of opponents'' (Al-Baqarah:204)

'Aisha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peaace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The most hateful of men in the sight of Allah is the most contentious, quarrelsome fellow'' (Bukhari).

Chapter 19: LOOSE TALK

Allah, the Exalted says:

''Woe unto every slandering traducer.'' (Al-Humazah)

'Aisha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The worst of men to ALlah in rank on the Resurrection Day will be one whome people forsake for fear of his harms (And in a narration: for fear of his indecency). (Agreed upon)

Chapter 20: INDECENT

Allah, the Exalted says:
''And those who will not witness vanity, but when they pass near senseless play, pass by with dignity''. (Al-Furqan:72)

Chapter: 21 FALSEHOOD

'Abdullah bin Mas'ud (Allah be pleased with him) used to say that when a man always tells lies a black spot is produced in his heart, till his whole heart gets blackened and his name is written with Allah amongst liars''. (Muwatta,Imam Malik)

Chapter 37: AVARICE AND GREEDINESS

Ka'b bin Malik ( Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: No two hungry wolves sent into a herd of sheep have wrought more ruinto them than the greed of a man of wealth and dignity to his religion. (Tirmidhi)

Chapter 44: TELLING SOMETHING WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE

'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Certainly Allah will not destroy knowledge outright by taking it away from the servants, by Allah (SWT) will destroy knowledge by taking away the lives of the learned till when there will remain not a single learned man, people will then take the illiterate as leaders. They will be consulted and so they will give decision without knowledge. They will go astray and will lead (others) to error. (Agreed upon).

Chapter 45: INTERPOLATING THE QUR'ANIC VERSES AND TRADITIONS OF
MESSENGER OF ALLAH

Allah, the Exalted says:

''Who doth greater wrong than he who inventeth a lie against Allah and denieth His revelations? Lo! the wrong doers will not successful'' (Al-An'am:21)

Anas (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said He who intentionally relates a false statement to me or deliberatley describes a false Hadieth should make his dwelling in Hell (Muslim).
