:salam2:

Abu Qatada al-Ansari (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) was asked ... about fasting on the day of 'Arafah (9th of Dhu'l Hijjah), whereupon he said: "It expiates the sins of the preceding past year and the coming remaining year." (Sahih Muslim)

Lessons from the Hadith
1) Day of Arafah has great importance. It is the day when Allah frees most slaves from Hell Fire (Sahih Muslim)
2) Pilgrims do Wuquf in the Plain of 'Arafah until Maghrib & Supplicate in front of Allah with great humility.
3) Don't miss the opportunity to expiate your sins so people other than pilgrims do fast on this Auspicious day.
4) Spend this day doing good deeds.
5) Supplicate excessively with fast, do Istighfar, say Takbeerat, recite Tasbeehat, do Dhikr.
