Assalammualaikum everyone ...
Two days ago, one of my worst fears was realized. I have remnants of serious OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) for cleanliness matters (purity) ... although, Alhamdulillah, it's cured immensely. However I never expected, after a looooong period of healing, that I would be tested with something that would shake my fragile OCD leftovers.
I recently found out that Centrum Multivitamin A-Z is not halal; some of its ingredients include pigskin. I was very shocked, seeing that I had accidentally left one of my tablets in my pockets and washed the clothes later. When I found out the news, I stopped taking the vitamins but realized that I had wetted the tablet, therefore making it the najis that requires the purifying process (1 time(s) earth mixed with water + 6 times water). I was absolutely helpless seeing that I had practically put a HUGE load (almost all my stock of uni clothes) for wash, therefore rendering all the clothes najis.
I have a horrible problem here. They say that if you touch a pig when dry, you don't become impure - touch it when either you or the pig is wet, and now you're impure. According to the Shafie madhab, you have to use the purifying method with earth. Others are saying a thorough wash will do.

I always pick the strongest opinion and therefore don't stick so stringently to one madhab, but of course, in my country, Shafie is the one which people adhere to. And they say, touch a pig, purify yourself with the earth+water method.

I follow the Qur'an and sunnah, period - that's for sure.
Also, I've collected the clothes from the wash, and some powder (from the dissolved Centrum tablet) has sprinkled the floor in masses. I'm also in a situation where it's impossible to get some earth just like that (I'm a hostelite in a university). I also have a room mate who's very particular about cleanliness and will flip out if I start washing the floor with earth. To me, everything's DIRTY and I'm simply miserable and in need of help. :'((( My OCD is coming back in a wild swing and its very frustrating since it took years to rub off. I'm just not moving much anywhere and am being in my room cause I'm scared that I'll make a wrong step again and there's more powder flung about from the clothes.
Can someone please, please, please advise me on this issue?
2)Please tell me whether I should find some earth and wash the ground and the clothes with the earth+water method or merely wash the clothes with water thoroughly and leave the ground as it is, after sweeping? A very strong opinion is needed right now, with good reasons and links from respectable scholars. Please.
b)Also, what does the majority say on the issue of touching pigs? In case I was wrong about Shafie', then what is the true opinion?
May Allah Bless whoever takes notice and helps, and I pray that Allah will Help that person in his/her time of need. Please answer ASAP. Thanks very, very much in advance.
