I can't have a cat?

that I am not allowed to keep a dog as a pet, which for me isn't a problem, (I live in an apartment). I agree that dogs can be filthy animals, but what about my cat? I don't not spend a vast amount of time or money with him, but he can be a companion at times.

Salaam Alaiykum,

Cats are NO problem to keep in the house. Even dogs can be kept as gaurd dogs or hunting dogs or dogs for other uses outisde your house.

The prophet (saw) LOVED cats... i heard a story of how kept part of his garment where a cat had fallen asleep while he was asleep inorder not to wake the cat up.
