i am having a problem with my salaat i can't seem to do it 5 times i get stuck on the computer really badly i want your help, i want to know any tips you can give me to not get stuck on the computer lol, i look at the many reverts to Islam and it makes me sad that i can't seem to put my salaat and my work together also i am just 16 years old all i do is make my website and watch videos and but the thing i just get glued on the computer, and i need help. :frown:

+++++++++++ EDIT +++++++++++
sukuran for your previous replys, ok i have another question, when i am praying with other people i see that they say everything really fast like, there movement and how they say the prayers, they say it so fast, while i go slow and give myself time to think on what i am saying and that makes my salaat really long, whats the average time a salaat is, also when your done praying is it true that u have to say "Allahuma saliy allah muhummudin walla ally muhammad" do u have to say that 3 times before you say your duah and 3 times after your duah. sorry if i am asking too many questions because i want to make sure every thing i am doing is right.

Asalamualikum,

Your question of concern is an awareness that you are allowing yourself to be controlled by the 'microwave' of the computer.

It is common for anyone to be 'distracted' from praying throughout the day.

Some can feel that "I know who Allah is...la ti da ti da..."...and brush this off as an excuse for not doing the Salaat.

You are aware of this 'temptation' to stay close to the computer....with good intentions.....do not feel less of a person because you feel this way.

The importance of praying the Salaat 5 times, is not to only acknowledge our Creator, but to take the time to 'thank Allah' and 'give Allah' the glory of your life here on the earth that you were born into...

Do not feel like a 'fanatic' for stopping anything that you are doing so you can pray to our Creator...Allah.

The 'temptation' of 'I'm ok....I'll do it later...' is the nature of our 'Adam & Eve' side to choose to do what WE Want...

You can make the choice to break from the computer's 'temptation'...and grow from your discipline to bow to Allah.

A MUSLIM BROTHER
ASAK Bro,
I do few things when i get the same temptations. i remember that hadith in which Prophet PBUH has said that the first thing that ALLAH SWT loves the most is praying on time. i don't know the exact words and i don't remember the number but other bro and sis might help you in getting that.

second thing is i did not do it but inshallah it helps u. collect all the verses and hadith which talk abt salat and get a print out of it and stick it to the wall facing your computer so that when its time u just see that and get motivated to get onto salat.

Also one of my other help were my friends i used to meet in masjid. if i were not to be seen in m masjid for 2 or 3 days, then next time when we meet they used to ask me whay was i not seen in masjid. so its better to have friends like those who keep constantly reminding each other.

One more thing is just remember few things like the other day i just imagined myself without eyes and wallahi brother i thought to myself that i would prefer dying rather than blind ( i'm not being mean to Blind people Astagfarullah , i'm just telling watever i felt) so which made me to thank my lord much more for this wonderful gift.

Also after you finish praying always supplicate to make your next salat much better than the one that you just prayed.

Inshallah this will help.

Prayer has more priority than fun. A prayer takes about two minutes to complete, leaving plenty of time for fun.
God is always watching you and expects you to obey Him.
Satan is always trying to divert you from the worship of God, even if it is by watching Islamic videos!
Your soul is hungry for God and its food is worship, especially prayer. Do not leave your soul hungry.

Very well said....the part about our soul is what is forever with Allah even when our bodies die...this goes on as 'who' we each are.

There is a 'void' when one does not fill it with prayer to Allah.

And people look for filling that 'void' through other means, which can be an endless cycle...getting nowhere.

Salaam Alaiykum,

What really drives me out of bed for even fajr prayers is the fact that ALLAH(swt) is going to judge us and insha allah I desperately want jennah in an everlasting life when this one is temporary.

Alhamdullah..
Assalam Alykom

Put the prayer time table next to the screen, and also put a note next to the exit door reminding you to '' Pray your last ever prayer'', each prayer can be your last ever prayer.... Put an Alarm '' Adhan'' reminding you of each prayer. Remembering death 30 times a day, can increase your imaan, and commitment to pray.. Prayer is like an appointment with Allah, subhanallah we can not ignore the appointment for an occupation or graduation ceromony but we can easily ignore our main communication with our creator ALLAH (SWT)....

May Allah increase your imaan, you question is a sign of imaan... Allah (SWT) knows best...

Your prayer doesn't particularly have to be a specific length, but you should be sure to perform the prayer correctly. Pause between verses in Al-Fatihah, and wait until your bow is completely 90 degrees and your back is straight in prostration and you have stopped movement before you say subhana rabbiyal azeem and subhana rabbiyal ala. A four rakat prayer usually takes within 6-10 minutes depending on your speed.

You are doing the right thing, brother, :ma: especially the part about "to think on what I'm saying." Bless your heart. Don't sacrifice that.

Not true. It's a good thing but is not mandatory. Even the supplication itself (Du`aa') is not mandatory! I assume you're talking about what you say AFTER the prayer is over, right? You DO have to say "Allahumma Salli `Ala Muhammad ...etc." once during the Tashahhud/Tahiyyaat.

Asalaam Alaykum
thanks brother, that was what i was trying to say

wa salaam
