Is it better work hard and be successful or born to be successful ?

I heard a story once about a couple of men who went to a Gold Refinery. The Refiner explained how he kept the Ore in the furnace until the Gold was the purity that he wanted.
As the visitors were leaving, one of the visitors asked the refiner how he knew when the Gold was pure enough. The refiner answered the gold was pure enough when he could see his reflection in it.
I am trying to learn the 99 Names of Allah. They are beautiful and cause for great reflection.
I have experienced both ease and hardship. Insha Allah, I will continue to experience what is needed.
