Is it haram??

I have a question for you brothers and sisters inshallah someone can answer this for me, as im now to islam so im not sure on everything but i want to ask are there some kinds of fish or sea foods like shell fish that are haram? I had heard that catfish are haram for many reasons as they eat off dead fish and have periods like human females and i forgot what was the third reason..but i dont know if it true or false and if there is any information to say its halal or haram...

Thank you for the article its very interesting...I dont want to sound like I am argue any point but i want ask also..this article is only refer to the fishes and animals in the sea, does the same apply for fresh water creatures? as i heard some say that salt water fish more clean, im not sure if thats right or not...just curious...thank you again brother for the article thank you..
