Salam alaikum.
What is the actual meaning of Jazakallahkhairan please?
A new sister was asking me and I wanted to explain it to her. I use it frequently to thank people, muslims, but I want to explain/know it EXACTLY.

JAZAKALLAHKHAIR.

"This is a statement of thanks and appreciation to be said to the person who does a favor. Instead of saying "thanks" (Shukran), the Islamic statement of thanks is to say this phrase.

Its meaning is: " May Allah reward you for the good."

It is understood that human beings can't repay one another enough. Hence, it is better to request Almighty Allah to reward the person who did a favor and to give him the best."

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله

Jazaa= reward (JazaK the K here refers to you (Male))

In Quran It could mean to be rewarded for your good deeds, OR panished for your bad deeds.

Khair (Khairan: The (an) is for when you continue talking non-stop )= good or goodness

the whole word means (May Allah reward you for the good or good things...)

Hope this clears it.. :)
