Asalaamalikum,
I've heard more people revert to Islam in jails/prison than outside. I guess because you have the time to reflect there. BTW, I am not encouraging anyone to go to jail.
You will find that most of the people who end up getting themselves in trouble or behind bars are those who had a troubled childhood, were not loved or given enough attention as a child, or grew up in a neighborhood where crime was the norm. We all make mistakes in life, we're only human.
One of the reasons I found this website was after watching "Hooked: The Story of Demetrius Williams". It's actually about a person who was suppose to be one of the best basketball players ever, even better than Michael Jordan!
He got into alot of trouble in his youth and was incarcerated, but Alhamdulillah Allah guided him and he reverted to Islam. Instead of making millions Allah gave him the best gift of all -Islam.
May Allah forgive us all
