London: Mosques in Britain will attract twice as many as churches by 2040, according to a study on the future of religious belief carried out by Christian Research.
The study said the number of Christian Britons would go down from 72% to 35%.
The number of Britons attending churches was expected to slump from 9.4% today to 5% in 35 years. Around 18 000 parishes will close by 2040, the study said. - Sapa-AFP
