Asalaamu alaykum,

I was wondering if it's possible for a person to read from the kitaab during prayer if they are not being led by an imaam (I.E. praying at home by themselves) because there are many women who do not know the quran of by heart yet they wish to complete it during the month of ramadan.

Any suggestion if backed up with evidence or logic will be very much appreciated.

thanks alot:)

salaamu alaykum

to Allah we belong
in Hanafi school, according to Imam Abu Hanifa (ra) its not permitted to read from Quran in any salah...fard or nafl. and according to other two Imams (ra) in Hanafi school, its permitted but disliked.

but in short, its not permitted and the prayer will become invalid.

u can learn and recite surahs which u know. Allah sees our intentions and are rewarded for those intentions.
