Ramadan comes and goes every year, but unfortunately few gain the actual benefits from this blessed month. let this Ramadan change yourself and help you to lead a life that is pleasing to Allah. Try these tips for a positive change and make this a productive Ramadan.

1. Pre Ramadan

This maybe your last Ramadan. So if you really want to make the best of this month you need to prepare for it now.

• Change your eating habits

• reduce the consumption of your favorite treat.

• Optional fasts on Monday and Thursday.

2. Sleeping habit

Ramadan is not a month to be lazy, and sleeping won’t help us to experience the full benefits of Ramadan.

• Define your sleeping hours; if you used to sleep 8 hours daily reduce it to 6 and make that time for Allah.

• Take a power nap about 20 minutes once during the afternoon hours.

• Avoid sleeping after fajr.

3. Akhlaq (character)

Ramadan is a fantastic opportunity to share Islam and its values with others, especially with non-Muslims.

• Send neighbors, family members and friends Ifthar snacks.

• Give kids Ramadan gifts.

• Have a family gathering for Ifthar.

• Help your family with their household chores.

4. Knowledge

Invest your time in this Ramadan to understand more about Islam.

• Start by gaining a connection to the Arabic language.

• Memorize some of the Ahadith.

• make use of an Islamic “Q and A” online service.

• Stay in the company of virtuous scholars.

• Or Sign up for an Islamic online course.

5. Quran

It’s recommended for every Muslim to recite the holy Quran often, but unfortunately the majority of the Muslims don’t have any relationship with the Quran. Ramadan is the perfect time to change this state.

• Recite at-least one Juz’ a day.

• Read the meaning in any language that you can understand.

• Revise that which you have already memorized.

• Make a firm intention to be closer to the holy Quran even after Ramadan.

6. Self-control

Muslims can’t simply go after their desires and do whatever they want. We need to have self-control in order purify our self. Ramadan is a great opportunity to practice self-control.

• Control your anger, don’t let it be the boss of you.

• Control your vain desires.

• Occupy yourself with something beneficial and don’t stay idle.
