Assalamu Alaikum

My name is Dianne I go by Dee.
I am a 52yr old mother, and computer Web Designer. My youngest daughter is a Muslim she took her shahada December 05' (Praise be to Allah). I myself have been Muslim since Oct 4th 2006 (Praise be to Allah). I was searching for the truth and it seems the more I discussed Islam and Allah with her the more I got the answers to so many questions I have had my whole life. I am hoping that Allah (S.W.T.) will lead me to firm practicing Muslims insha'Allah in hopes that they will be able to teach and guide me towards the straight path insha'Allah. I truly want to learn all the prayers because I try to do them in English and it just isn't the same to me. Will accept any advice on how to learn them in Arabic.

:salam2: sister Dee! News of your revertion makes me so happy welcome to our family :) Subhanallah Allah showed you and your daughter the truth and you accepted it. This is the beginning of the rest of your life.

As a new Muslim you may find some things difficult and you may receive negative comments from friends and family, but Allah rewards those who are patient. I ask you to remain patient sister and take things slowly as you begin your quest to learn about your beautiful new way of life. Mashallah your daughter has already taught you things, may Allah reward her greatly.

Regarding prayer, like I say, take it one step at a time. You can find an excellent step-by-step guide at the following link:

http://www.turntoislam.com/index.php?page=pray

Even if you can't read the Arabic, try to slowly memorise the Arabic pronunciation written in English. But arabic words are pronounced for you there in audio too (just click the play buttons), so inshallah you should be able to learn it in no time :)

Once again, congratulations on finding the truth and being a member of our family. Please do not hesitate in asking us any questions or queries you may have. And please do encourage your daughter to join TurnToIslam too as it really is an excellent source of information.

May Allah give you and your daughter strength. May He guide you both and increase your knowledge and the strength of your iman (faith).
