Rabbe Zidni Illma
Amidst the music of running engines.
Blaring horns and human screams.
I toss and turn on my bus seat.
To catch a sleep, which is so sweet.
My mind pumps, my thoughts wander.
They hit a target, over which I ponder.
It instills a fear in my heart.
And nearly rips my body apart.
Have you ever imagined about death?
Do you fear that this could be your last breath?
Are you happy with what you have become?
Or do you feel like me, a piece of scum?
Does your throat burn with guilt when you lie?
Ever regretted the words, when your anger touched the sky?
Did you ever try to be a little more kind?
Or judged between two without being blind?
Does your hand extend to help the needy?
Do you feel sad that you are more greedy?
Ever forgave others for the scars they left?
Or were you patient when bereft?
Ever wept incessantly for the sins done?
Desires & lusts, did you try to shun?
Do you miss the human spirit in you?
Or lament over, when your beloved bids a final adieu?
It is a short life of 60 years, a fleeting time.
I swear if you change a bit, it would be no crime.
Do it before Mr. Death knocks on your gate.
Else you would regret living a life, and it will be too late.
P.S - Comments and criticism are welcomed.
Peace.
