Translated Versions of the Qur'an

Hi everyone,
I have a quick question about translated versions of the Qur'an - are they to be treated in the same way as the Holy Qur'an? Apart from being kept on high shelves and only read with clean hands, is there any other etiquette to follow when reading them? I hope I'm not covering anything somebody else has asked! I couldn't find it on the discussion board.
Many thanks

assalamu alaykum

The Original Quran written in Arabic is called the Mushaf . You must have Wudhu to read from it.....

There is nothing mentioned about placing the Quran on highest shelf. Rather, we give the Quran respect, so its not good to put other books on top of it etc......

You can read the translation as it is not the "Mushaf"

Thanks for letting me know and the extra stuff about the Arabic name and Wudhu...I've nearly read 1/2 of the English translation and its going well -Thanks to Allah- but just thought that I would check. Thank you for your reply
