Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that "common destiny, common history and common future" are common slogans of Turkey and Syria.

Davutoglu and his Syrian counterpart Walid Mualem held a joint press conference after they completed the first part of the first meeting of Turkey-Syria High Level Strategic Cooperation Council in Aleppo on Tuesday.

Davutoglu said that Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan would visit Damascus in the beginning of December, and officials of Turkey and Syria would meet under the co-chairmanship of prime ministers of both countries.

Noting that they would sign a visa exemption agreement with a symbolic ceremony on border today, Davutoglu said that they, then, would proceed to Turkish southeastern province of Gaziantep and pursue the meeting there. He added that they would hold a press conference in the evening.

Syrian minister Mualem said that this was a historical day, adding that the cooperation between Turkey and Syria was an example to the other countries in the region.

Mualem said that other countries could develop strategic relations by taking the agreement between Turkey and Syria into consideration.
