Types of Muslims

Salam Brothers and Sisters,

I am new to the family and Islam, so there is still alot that I need to learn.
I know there are a few differnt types of Muslims, Shia, Sunni....(i'm sure there are more) I dont feel I fit into any "group' yet. I simply dont know enough.
I am wondering if someone would like to tell me about the different groups of Muslims. Inshallah
I would like to understand more.

Brother Adam, You are very right, but I have already noticed some difference on this forum, so thought it best to understand. Being a western Muslim, I feel really happy that I am able to be a Muslim, with no sectarianism. My path is to follow the Qur'an....the source.
